Do you own an online shop or run your own small business? For many of us, the holidays bring in a new wave of customers with the potential for increased income. But in order to prepare and maximize our profits, we need to be prepared and above all— organized!
While it can all feel a little overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be daunting. Let’s break things down and inject a little fun into our preparations, to make this season one of calm instead of stress.
You can start by printing out one or all of these six small business holiday checklists. They are 8.5 x 11 with no trimming required. To keep organized, each sheet is assigned a unique color, with the following categories covered:
- Marketing
- Customer Service
- Celebrations
- Sales
- Gift Giving
- Everything Else
Certain facets may require extra items, so feel free to print as many of each as you need!
Now for the fun part. On each sheet, there is a column for “priority level.” Anyone who runs a business knows that sometimes, we can’t do it all. Plans change, we run out of resources, new things come up, and we’ve got to be ready to adapt in order to keep going.
I’ve provided you with a collection of stickers that you can use to track the importance of each task so that you and your team members know where it stands.
Sometimes things aren’t as simple as “high priority” and “low priority”. A more appropriate instruction may need to be a word of encouragement or a reminder that you have what it takes to get the job done. And if the priority level changes, you can just place a new sticker on top of the old one!
There are two ways for you to print and use these stickers and I’ve provided file types for both:
- Use Avery 41568 Round Candy Labels. They are cute little sheets with the stickers already perforated. Simply print and peel.
- Use Avery 5165 True Block Shipping Labels. These are 8.5 x 11 full sticker sheets that you can print anything on, as long as you are willing to trim them out (I used scissors for mine).
I recommend stocking up on both! Even if you don’t use the Avery 5165 True Block Shipping Labels for your small business holiday checklists, they are great to have on hand for custom projects and shipping (I used them for both personal and business).
In addition to providing us with easy to use labels, here are a couple more ways that Avery can help your business to thrive during this holiday season:
- By using any of their products that utilize SureFeed technology. If you’ve ever had issues with printing and paper jams, these will be your new best friend! They have an entire selection of address labels to choose from!
