This Simple DIY Holiday Gift Ideas and Printables post has been sponsored by Avery and compensation was received for my time in developing it. All thoughts, ideas & opinions are my own.
I’ve confessed it before, but I’ll say it again: I am not a DIYer. I love designing, but that’s from the comfort of my computer. Once assembly and things like glue get involved, I start to get nervous. That’s why I fell in love with Avery products long ago, and why I continue to pair them with my printables. They are a match made in heaven.
THIS is the year, I declared, that I will be ahead. I’m going to keep it simple, and get a collection of go-to gifts in order, so that I can enjoy all of the magic of the season, without the stress of an impending to-do list.
Whether you’ve made your own declaration of timeliness or if you’re reading this on December 24th, the three DIY gift ideas in this post are simple and easy to put together in little time. If you’re a DIYer it’ll be cake.
First up, are these sweet personalized candles. I picked up these candle jars at the dollar store and they smell like Christmas. Better than that, the labels peeled right off the top with ease, so I could replace them with the custom ones that I designed.
Tie a little ribbon around it, and you’ve got a $1 item that just got an instant upgrade to a fancier, more meaningful gift. I used Avery Round Craft Labels (22808) to easily print + stick. Did I mention how much I love them?
The next gift showcases my obsession with popcorn. Anyone else? This project may have been easier than the candles, although the jury is still out. I sterilized some jars that I already had in the house, filled them with popcorn kernels and then attached the cutest gift tag of all time.
When I came up with this idea, I knew that Avery Scallop Round Tags (80503) would be perfect, because they look like popcorn! Does it get any cuter? These tags come perforated, so there are no trimming or fancy tools needed. Just print and pop (see what I did there)?
The last DIY gift idea to round out this collection are personalized gift card holders. I love that stores have upped their game when it comes to gift card packaging, but they still don’t have the capability of printing names or making them super personal.
I tapped into Avery Matte White Postcards (8387) which are the best because again, no cutting! These cards area already perforated, so all you need to do is print. The only bit of cutting is to make small incisions where I’ve indicated so that you can easily slip in your gift cards. If you want to skip this step and keep it really easy, you could even attach your cards with tape or adhesive.
If you plan to send these gift cards through the mail, I highly recommend using any of Avery’s Surefeed Technology products for your mailing labels. You can quickly create your holiday invitations with Avery’s Mail Merge tool. To see how easy it is, check out this video.
