This week’s thoughts and inspirational message were written by our newest contributor, Janna Madsen. I know that her thoughtful story will help to inspire you to keep on moving!
When I first started training for boxing, I was ready to show up and go hard. To give it my all, right from the start. Sensing this zeal, my coach, who is also my dad, told me that it is better to show up consistently than to go hard every time. The consistency is key, and, “It’s all money in the bank,” as he’d say. Some days I didn’t sense progress. Some days things seemed to move rather slowly, but on the days of the competition, I would make withdrawals from the “bank” of consistently showing up. Whatever you’re doing in life, as long as you show up consistently, even if each occurrence isn’t your best, your showing up will pay off in the end.
