Where are my list-makers at? I have come to terms with the fact that I operate very poorly without direction, which is why I’m crazy about making lists and schedules. Without them, I’m just a ball of distraction with an efficiency level of zero. When it comes to running my business, I’ve got some good systems in place. Operating my home? Not as much.
This year, I’m trying hard to change that! This new cleaning planner takes the same methods I use to plan my professional day and replaces phrases like “return emails” with “scrub toilet”. I know, not the most even trade, but it’s got to get done!
I’ve seen this 15-minute a day cleaning plan floating around Pinterest for a couple years now and finally decided to make it my own. I’ve made a list of the tasks that need to be taken care of on a daily basis, and placed them on top, so I’ll be sure I never miss them. The rest of the week has been broken down into zones (bathrooms, bedroom, living room, etc), which each zone assigned to a day of the week. The thought is that if you invest just a small amount of time in cleaning each day, that your home will be perpetually clean.
If you are out of town, or having a rough day, or you have a sick kid, extend yourself the grace to skip those tasks and move on to the next zone the following day. I think the key to this plan is persistence.
If you need a little more motivation than just a schedule, I’ve also designed a pretty set of cleaning labels that you can add to your current bottles or new bottles if you decide to make your own solution.
The best way to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the many free printables I share, is to join my mailing list, which you can do right here.
I realize that the schedule I’ve come up with is not going to work for everyone, so I’ve designed two versions— one filled in with my tasks and one blank version for you to write in your own.
