It seems like new mobile applications are popping up on a daily basis. There are some great wedding resources out there for the months of planning leading up to your wedding as well as apps to use on your wedding day and beyond. Here is a look into some of the best apps available for FREE on your mobile devices.
Application 1: Wedding Planning Complete
If hiring a wedding planner isn’t an option for you, this app can serve as a great alternative. The Wedding Planning Complete app was designed to provide you with a plethora of resources, right at your fingertips. Based on America’s best-selling wedding planning book, “The Ultimate Wedding Planner and Organizer,” the app comes complete with tools to keep track of every detail from your guest list to your overall budget.
Pros: Link to “My Journal,” “Photos,” “Wedding Blogs,” and “Wedding Store” for planning ideas. Allows you to share contents to e-mail, Twitter or Facebook.
Cons: In order to unlock special features (which include checklist tool, RSVP tracking, seating charts and a planning guide) you must upgrade to “Wedding Planning Complete Plus”, for the cost of $2.99.
Available for: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Application 2: WeddingHappy Wedding Planner
This application is a great way to create a timeline of tasks to be completed before your big day! Customize your task list by using categories such as Florist, Photographer or Transportation to search for vendors in your area. You can also set up notifications for your due dates and track the progress of the tasks you have already completed.
Pros: No account sign up required. Just enter your wedding date and your task calendar will be created, which you can then customize. This app is an easy to use planner that is great for grooms too!
Cons: Pop-up ads, has a very bare-bones task list.
Available for: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Application 3: Wedding Party
This app is a neat way for both the bride and groom and their guests to share wedding photos! Free accounts are available via the weddingpartyapp.com site, or Facebook. A private photo feed is set up, accessible only to you and your guests. The images shared are viewable in a photo feed, similar to Instagram, so your guests will be able to comment and interact. Additionally, a digital guestbook is available for your guests to leave you personal messages.
Pros: Easy to use, nice clean interface.
Cons: No photo filters or enhancements available for your images.
Available for: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Application 4: Appy Couple
Appy Couple is a great alternative to a wedding website because it can be accessed on the go. Share wedding event details with your guests, such as hotel information and travel arrangements while also providing them with a way for them to easily contact you with any questions. Your guests will be able to connect with you on a personal level by reading your love story and viewing your photos. The best part is that the bride and groom can design and personalize the app, choosing to share selective information with certain people (i.e., wedding day preparation details with your bridesmaids only). Your guests will also be able to view and share photos from the wedding.
Pros: Gives your guests constant access, demo available to help navigate, well designed.
Cons: Not a great option if you have guests who aren’t tech-savvy.
Available for: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android.

Application 5: The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner
Brought to you by theknot.com, this app gives you access to all of the features of their website, in the palm of your hand. Features range from budget tools, personalized checklists, a vendor search and inspirational ideas. There is also an extensive checklist of to-dos that allows you to assign dates, people, categories and even alerts for every imaginable wedding task.
Pros: Has a great ever-present slide-out Planning Tools interface. From just about anywhere in the app, you can access a menu that provides the basic utilities for planning a wedding.
Cons: No option to send out reminders for checklist items. The default checklist they supply is a bit overwhelming and includes superfluous items. A better solution would be to let the user simplify the list down to their personal needs.
Available for: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
