I absolutely adore every detail of this sweet wedding, photographed by the lovely Audrey Rose Photography. Audrey was not only kind enough to share these beautiful photos with us, but also gave us some behind the scenes details from this perfect day:
Beth and Wyatt wanted a wedding that was simple and intimate, yet traditional. The color blue, (Beth’s favorite), played a major part in the wedding— found in her ring, shoes, decorations, and bow ties. She was able to have two special keepsakes with her, which came from her late grandmothers— the lace on the bouquet from one grandmother’s wedding dress, and rosary beads from the other. During portraits, we went to a bridge going over the Hague River, in Ghent that has locks on it like the one in Paris. The groom proposed on this bridge and we did their engagement pictures there, which made it an extra special location. On the day of the wedding, the groom surprised the bride with an engraved lock for them to add on the bridge. The reception highlighted all the things about Norfolk and Virginia that they loved most: food from Virginia and St. Louis (Beth’s hometown), local craft beer, good wine and great views of the Elizabeth River.
