While it wasn’t listed as one of the goals I shared last week, starting a new cleaning ritual is something really I want to implement this year. I’m much more of an organizer and a straightener-upper than a deep cleaner. As long as things look pretty on the surface, I feel my job is done. It’s not until I start to notice a layer of kitty hair appear on the rug, or a ring of dirt in the bathtub that I spring into action and go on a 4-6 hour cleaning binge. This grosses me out so much when I think about it and I’m ready to make a change. I’ll go more into my new cleaning routine later in the week, but today, let’s start with a new set of bottle labels I’ve designed to make scrubbing those toilets a little more glamourous.
About two years ago I started to make my own cleaning solution. I got some cheapo spray bottles from Target and made a set of glass and all-purpose cleaner for each of our bathrooms. The only photo I have is this one that James posted on Instagram, of course making fun of me.
So what happened to them? I love you, Target but those bottles were the worst. A couple of them exploded. A few got really dented from air pressure and then there were the nozzles that completely stopped working. I paid a dollar each for them, so I guess that’s the quality I should have expected.
Some searching online led me to these clear bottles on Amazon. I bought a whole bunch and thought they would look a lot prettier with some handmade labels, so I went a little nuts designing them. I ended up stopping at eight labels, including one that you can customize with your own text. The other seven labels are as follows:
{ All Purpose Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, Bath & Shower Cleaner, Floor Cleaner, Laundry Detergent, Linen Spray, and Dish Soap }
There’s a small set of labels which fit the clear spray bottles shown in these photos, along with a larger set in case you are using something bigger. I need all the motivation I can get to clean, and I think that my new bottles may have done the trick.
On Thursday, I’ll reveal my new cleaning plan— 15 minutes a day, every day, to keep things from getting out of control and to eliminate the need for my all-day cleaning sessions. Of course, the free printable below will be shared with you as well!
