I finally got around to having some head shots taken for this blog + some other business promotions which gave me the opportunity to update the blog’s about page. Head over and let me know what you think!
I am incredibly grateful to two special ladies and premiere wedding industry vendors, Erin Infantino of Simply Gorgeous by Erin and Ashley Poisella of Ashley Therese Photography.
I started my day by getting glammed up by Erin in her adorable studio. I showed her some photos of makeup styles that I liked and she ran with it, completely exceeding my expectations. She made me feel like a complete movie star. I only wish she could be around to do my makeup every morning!
Later that afternoon, I headed down to Ashley’s. We chatted for awhile about what I had in mind for my photos and how I would be using them. I really didn’t give her much to work with other than I wanted to look like me and be able to evoke what I’m like in “real life” since so much of my communication is done behind a computer screen. Pretty vague!
Not only did Ashley manage to capture my unclear vision with precision and beauty, but she also made me feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. It felt much more like I was just chatting with a friend than awkwardly posing. The hardest part was trying not to break out into laughter when she was trying to get a more “serious” shot. We had planned on taking some shots at a nearby park, but were still in recovery from a huge snowstorm that had just hit Connecticut. Instead we braved Ashley’s back yard, trudging through knee deep snow, trying not to fall over or ruin her camera.
The irony lies in my complete dislike of snow and all things cold. I kept laughing, thinking how much my family was going to make fun of the fact that I was trying to capture my essence in an environment where I’m usually wearing a frown. Somehow Ashley worked her magic and we ended up with some awesome shots that have given me a new appreciation for the snow.
Thank you so much Ashley and Erin for your time and talents! Brides of Connecticut and beyond: run, don’t walk to work with these two professionals and truly wonderful people.
